FAQ

What is permanent make-up?

Micropigmentation, permanent makeup and cosmetic tattooing are common terms for the practice of placing small amounts of pigment into the dermal layer of the skin to achieve a desired color change. As we age, our eyelashes and brows become sparse with hair and our lips tend to lose color. Adding color restores the appearance that we had during our young adulthood. The color can last up to 5 years and is a convenient alternative to daily application of makeup and minimizes the aging process. Common areas to pigment are the brows, eyelids and lips.Permanent Makeup helps people with:
• An Active Lifestyle• Those Who Want to Maximize Time by Not Applying Makeup Daily• Medical Conditions with Approval by Physician That Create Unsteady Hands, I.E. Palsy, Stroke, Parkinson's, Etc.• Contact Lenses Wearers• Visual Impairment
• Hay Fever and Watery Eyes• Little or No Brow Hair or Lashes• Alopecia (Absence of Hair)• Difficulty with Makeup Application• Unsteady or Arthritic Hands• Allergies to Conventional Cosmetics• Scars Resulting from Accidents or Surgery

Will it fade?

The first two weeks after a procedure is called the color stabilization time. The first few hours after a procedure, the color will darken as the swelling subsides. In three to seven days, the epidermal (outer) layer of skin will gradually peel or flake off as the new layer re-grows. Some of the color will come off with this layer. Allow a 10% to 30% fade during this time. Your color will soften with time. Using total sun block and avoiding tanning beds and chlorinated water will help prolong the duration of your color.

Is it expensive?

Looking at the long-term cost that you spend each year on cosmetics and the time spent applying makeup, it's worth every penny! For some of my aging clients who struggle to get their brows even and the frustrating time they spend getting ready for a function, they always leave on cloud nine wondering why they never knew about permanent makeup before!

How long does my permanent makeup last?

This varies with the lifestyle and care of each individual person. Typically, the duration is between two to five years. Following post-procedure care of the treated area will help prolong the results as well as using sunscreen, avoiding tanning beds and minimal exposure to chlorinated water.
